Whenever someone sneezes, you say
"Bless you" or hear someone else say these words.
Why? Why are these words spoken?These words are spoken because it is used to wish a person blessing in various situations. Also hope of fight off the diseases.
When? when did this saying originate?They say this when someone sneezes and if you give them something. Or they say that they mean good health to you.
How? How did this saying originate? People believed a man's soul could be inadvertently thrust from his body by an explosive sneeze.
Where? Where did this saying originate?The exchangeable term "gesundheit" comes from Germany, and it literally means "health." The idea is that a sneeze typically precedes illness. It entered the English language in the early part of the 20th century, brought to the United States by German-speaking immigrants.
