Allopathic physician (M.D.)


Duties and Responsibilities:Athletic trainers work with athletic teams, athletes, coaches, and sports medicine physicians. They help develop training programs to prevent injuries as well as rehabilitation programs for the injured. They treat injured athletes under the direction of team or sports medicine physicians. Salary:Income for medical doctors varies significantly based on their amount of experience and area of specialty. For example, the BLS reported, as of May 2012, family and general practice doctors earned an average annual salary of $180,850; meanwhile, anesthesiologists averaged $232,830 per year.

Education:Undergraduate Degree in a science-related field.

Allergist
Duties and Responsibilities: Investigate and treat allergic diseases and immunological disorders in patients.Examine patients, use medical instruments and equipment to perform allergic tests.Find and analyze the cause of allergic reactions.Perform clinical tests to discover allergies.Prescribe suitable treatment to allergic patients.Study epidemiological aspects of allergies and immunology disorders.Provide allergist consultancy services to hospitals.Record each patient's medical history.Ask patients about their allergic reactions and try to identify causes and treat symptoms.Monitor the patients and see if symptoms disappeared.Order and maintain medical equipment and allergic tests.

Salary:The average pay for an Allergist-Immunologist is $154,669 per year. Most people with this job move on to other positions after 20 years in this field.

Education: After completing medical school and graduating with a medical degree, physicians undergo three years of training in internal medicine or pediatrics and pass the exam of either the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) or the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP).
Internists and pediatricians interested in becoming an allergist / immunologist have at least an additional two years of study, called a fellowship, in an allergy / immunology training program.
